Evictions are back in Miami-Dade, but most COVID tenant protections remain in place

Just less than four hours before it expired, Gov. Ron De Santis extended Florida’s COVID-related moratorium on evictions and mortgage foreclosures on Tuesday night through Aug. 1. The reaction by renters and landlords was swift and polarizing.
